TURCO ELEGANTE OPENS ITS DOORS

Turco Elegante, Istanbul's most curated club, opened its doors last Saturday evening with a magnificent reception. The city's leading figures gathered for the night, and the architecture of the club — along with the privileges it offers — earned full marks from the guests.
The long walnut table at the centre of the hall recalled the oldest tradition of any club: conversation. Introductions, toasts and talk of the city's future followed one another through the evening.
More than a club
Turco Elegante is not merely a place; it is a circle of people who have made elegance a habit. Membership is not walking through a door, but joining a language.
We translate the elegance of the past into the language of today — from the colophon of every issue.
At the end of the night the seal fell and the first issue was closed. From now on Tercüman-ı Hakikat will be set at the same table every week: culture, history, art and thought, read the way a newspaper is meant to be read.

Interpreter of Truth
Tercüman-ı Hakikat borrows its name from the Ottoman press: the interpreter of truth. A newspaper that did not merely report the day, but translated it.
We kept the name because the task is the same. Culture, history, art and thought are not archived here; they are carried back into conversation, in Turkish and in English, in the same issue.
